I am struggling with the after affects of almost a year and a half in bed with undiagnosed symptoms of dizzyness, nausea, intermittent paralysis on my left side, and intermittent SPEECH PROBLEMS that sound similar to yours. After every neurologist had done every test available, they ruled out a stroke, and to my surprise, asked if I was under a lot of stress or had I had a trauma, (physically or emotionally), recently. I did have some pretty severe situation, (abusive partner), but when the abuse started, I got out immediately. Unfortunately, I lost everything I owned including baby pics, etc. My walking has improved a lot, I am still working on rehabing the left arm but man, when I am on the phone or someone is talking to me and the discussion is going at a normal pace, I start losing my words, and can even lose the speech altogether. I am currently seeing a neuropychiatrist and have been taking anti-depressants which help to a point but the speech is not coming back perfectly. I know how frustrating this must be for you but try seeing a psychiatrist and work on the anxiety with him...who knows, maybe there is a dormant problem that needs assistance to help you move forward. Good Luck.
Hi Abhijeet,
So what u think about this .Is this some problem with me , some cure available or its just my thinking?
Any pointers in right direction will be much appreciated.
ya I think anxiety is more in formal meeting rather than in friends group but it is not always. I guess I don't have any other anxiety.
Hello.
Your problem is definitely not that of stuttering. Do you think you are more anxious when you are in a gathering or in a group and have to speak on a particular topic? If it is a formal meeting, the anxiety could be more than if you are in a group of friends with casual chat.
Do you have any other anxieties?
Regards
Thanks abhijeet for replying..
I thought noone has replied yet.
Well I guess yes whenever I am relaxed words come prefectly but if I want am doing something,I am in discussion or in meeting then its a problem.
To overcome this,I am made a habit of, instead of using those words I try to use some simpler ones that are easy to speak...
Please reply what u think about this.? Is this problem only with me?
I havnt seen people sluttering but not sure with this problem..
Hello.
There are certain indicators which tell that this may not be a disorder, but needs attention. First, there are certain words only, which don't come out. You do not have problem speaking a sentence. Hence, this is not stuttering.
Second, you have this since childhood. And it probably has not affected your education and further areas.
Third, there are times when a word would not come out, while at other times, it will. This particular aspect will need attention. Is it anxiety? Do you feel you have the problem when you are anxious?
