sweating on one side of body

I recently started sweating on my right side only. When this happens my blood pressure goes to 190/100.

What the world has happened to me?

Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor.

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

Given the symptoms you have described, you may have Harlequin syndrome (sweating on one side of the face), or some other sympathetic pathway problem.  Your sympathetic nerve pathway help you sweat.  On the basis of your location of symptoms, a neurologist can do certain tests that may help us find out if you have a lesion in this pathway.   Imaging, such as MRI of your spine, and EMG, can be carried to determine the underlying etiology of the condition.

Treatment would probably be conservative, if it is not so bothersome, however you should also just get routine blood work and thyroid tests to make sure nothing else is going on.

Hope this information was helpful.  Good luck!
