tremor?

so I have had tremors (or tics? not sure the difference) pretty much all my life. When I was young and up to about 3-4 years ago, I had a habit of always moving my head, to the side or nodding like "yes" position constantly. Sometimes I had throat habits where I make a noise through the throat (kind of hard to explain). about 3-4 years ago, I started receiving tremors in my arms. more like a spasms.. It's always on one side (either L or R, never at same time), and usually come on when i'm not doing much. I still have head movements, but i never get both hand AND head at same time, just either one.

Im in early 20s years old, with no family history of these stuff (grandpa had Alzheimer), and it's not really getting worse, except the onset of hands, but I just recently started worrying about whether I have parkinson's or not... and if this is something i should worry about. I have no other health symptoms, pretty healthy, exercise fine, feel fine, doing well overall, but this little thing has been in the back of my mind. any help would be appreciated. thanks!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. This sounds like essential tremor, which a neurological disorder is causing involuntary shaking of particular body parts, head and hands. These tremors worsen when hands are used rather than when resting. It may affect the voice making it quivering. Usually the cause is unknown, without a known cure. It is different from parkinson’s disease. parkinson’s involves involuntary tremors at rest, muscle stiffness, slowness of movement and is caused by deficiency of dopamine in brain. Consult your neurologist to help you with drugs like propranolol, primidone, clonazepam etc. Hope this helps. Take care.
