It could be from a number of things. In my case, I had left hand weakness and tremor for 5 years, then one day I couldn't lift my thumb, then a month later I couldn't lift my first finger. Finally got onto a knowledgeable neurologist (second one I tried) and I have either CIDP or more likely MMN, both autoimmune peripheral nerve diseases. Am undergoing trial IVIg treatment to confirm. Not saying that's what you have, it's just one example.
Thank you for your post.
I'am seeing a neurologist. Having alot of test, and I'am worried! It is strange not to use your fingers. Was that nerve in his hand or neck, back? It was nice to know it worked out for your boyfriend (smile)
Thanks again.
Your finger sounds exactly like what happened to my boyfriends muscle between his thumb and index finger. The muscle looks like it's gone. It was his aldner? nerve and he had surgery and it's fine now. It's basically muscle atrophy. He couldn't use his fingers to write or even put his hand in his pocket. I would suggest you have this checked out.
