what's going on?

for about three months now i have had several troubling symptoms.  i have/get severe headache, dizziness, eye pain, burning/stabbing pain in legs, weakness in both legs,  pins and needles all over my body, scalp pain/tenderness, balance problems, and some memory loss.  i have seen a neuro twice.  he said that MRI showed lesions in the white matter of the frontal regions and several subcortical white matter abnormalities two of these are associated with decreased signal on T1.  there is also a focal area of increased signal on flare in the right superior cerebellar peduncle.  what the heck could/does this mean?  he had me tested for lyme, lupus, RA, etc. all were negative.  as i was involved in an auto accident, he seems to be concentrating on those injuries (concussion with post concussion syndrome, and cervical sprain.  do these injuries cause such wide spread symptoms as i am getting?  it is getting very difficult for me to walk.  it feels as though i am walking through water against the current.  i tried walking yesterday and it was painful.  i walked for two blocks nonetheless.  last nite my legs were in excruciating pain all nite long.  also, the pins and needles have extended to my face.  should my neuro schedule and EMG and repeat MRI?  i don't want him to think i'm some kind of nut!  what should i do?   thanks for reading.  bye

hi doc, thank you so very much for responding.  you have confirmed my belief that something else is wrong besides the auto accident injuries.  I will certainly speak with my neuro about this.  Have a nice evening.  With gratitude, Stinkypinky

Hello.

The MRI picture hints towards a demyelinating pathology. And your symptoms also suggest the same. You should focus on ruling out MS. You may go ahead and ask for EMG. MS can be diagnosed or ruled out not on any one test. but after correlating the clinical picture with the investigations. I would also recommend a CSF examination for the markers of demyelination.

Regards
