Crushed C1

I was in a one-car accident on April 18.  I was placed in an Aspen Collar (for about 3-months), dislocated a shoulder and broke three-ribs.  I blacked out prior to the accident and have no memory of anything strange or any unusual feelings prior to blacking out.  The original angiogram and x-rays also show degenerative disks C5,-C6 & C7.  Could this be the problem.? The doctors tell me my injuries will heal themselves but we need to find out why I blackout out.  I am an otherwise very healthy 68 year old female and nothing like this has ever happen to me.  We have scheduled a MRI-C-spin, MIR-Brain, MRA-Brain and MRA-Neck.  I also have scheduled an Echo Cardiogram, an I.V. Persanthine-Thallium stress test and a Holter Monitor.

I cannot drive while wearing the collar but my hustand says he does not want me to drive unless they can tell me why I passed out.  I've been told that that is not always possible.  Should I refrain from driving if they are not able to pin-point the problem that caused me to black-out?  What is the difference in having a stroke (and accident) and then driving again.  Just because you had one stroke does not mean you will absolutely have another???

Dear all
Memory disturbances and fukes are probably frequent during rides !! moreover a head trauma during a car accident could cause retrograde amnesia, thats by definition loss of recalled events which happened before the accident. So dear, dont force to find a reason of not recalling events , this could be near-normal during accidents and heavy brain work.
I am not going to promote a name but it is known even in Lebanon the American product of Natrol named "Vimpozine memory complex"
