Still in pain

I was in a car wreck which caused a herniated disc in my neck. I was having severe "sharp shooting " pains in my head so the doctor did surgery and fused the 5 and 6 disc together. Sharp pains in my head went away right after surgery but still having alot of pain in the back of my head and all the way down my arms. My shoulders hurt to the touch!! I still hurt from shoulders ,arms  to the back of my head. I am on 1500 milograms of Neurontin a day which helps at night but I am in pain all day at work and when I get home. Please help, what is still wrong!!! I am tired of hurting I want to be normal again.

Dear 1 year is a quiet enough period for post operative healing process. please do your best to have soon a cevical spine MRI and wait for the radiological results which should show generally bilateral nerve roots compression and that is my expectation from what you are describing BUT if no compression is noted and te  surgey seems to be fine, I can assume that the pain you are experiensing is a muscle spasms allong with a element of inflamation because of a probable neck muscle overwork and an nonclimatization of thr neck architectony with the new happening fusion. the solution is maily a muscle relaxant and a physiotherapy Shiatzu technique or a relaxation technique.
