Breathe is right, or say STOP! Put cold ice cubes in your hands, and use clay in your hands to hold like a stress ball. Pray as well.
Thanks. Right now I have an appt with a psychiatrist for medication management. I think from there I will see about a therapist again too. Are there other medications they can put me on LNG with Zoloft to help with ocd and depression or does Zoloft cover it all?
You need to talk to your doc. If it has gotten worse over time then perhaps a dosage increse will help. You have been on the same med for a while so I'm not sure if your body has built up a tolerance to it. I would think that with the right med on the right dose, you wouldn't be struggling with the above issues as much as you are.
Did you ever learn CBT when you were in therapy? For the checking, what I do is I say verbally "the iron is off" or "the door is locked" so that way when I panic in the car on my way to work, I can remember that I said those words out loud.
As for the rereading, you need to stop yourself. Say "NO" and "MOVE ON" and don't give in and go back. If you are anxious at that point, then breath to bring yourself back down to calmness.

When I say issues I mean I just still have certain things that cause anxiety, or I still have some ocd things like someone tapping makes me explode, I can't read a magazine without re reading the last few words on each page about five times by turning the page, turning it back and reading the last words and do that five times or so. I still have to check and re check locks and stuff. And I have recently read that the dosage should be higher for ocd. I also haven't been to therapy in 11 years either. I get refills from my regular doctor.
What types of issues are you having? Have these issues gotten worse over the years to the point where you feel that 50 isn't enough? Even though I take medication, Wellbutrin, I do still have some panic attacks which I use CBT on...wondering if it is the same as me.
