Your welcome.  I hope that after therapy you can ditch the disinfectant.

Hi there.  Everybody's OCD is different and I have to say that this is not something that I do however my sister did it for years.  You and your friend need some psychological intervention.  I know it is great to have somebody to talk to and who completely understands where you are coming from but the reality is this is a disorder that can be treated and there is no reason why you and your friend should be burdened with this hand washing problem.  Look at it as a bonus this way...you both will be getting therapy at the same time and learning cognitive behavioral therapy and can help each other through it.

Are you a librarian?  When you say the more busy you get the worse it is do you mean because you have to touch more things?

Were you officially diagnosed with OCD?  If so, by who?  Also, is this the only OCD issue you have going on?  No other compulsions or irrational thinking?
