Sciatic problem legs

About 15 years ago, my sciatic nerve bothered me so much that I could not walk almost at all.  After six weeks of chiropractry, either "tincture of time" or the treatment seemed to cure me.  I get occasional flairups and I have a sore spot, but nothing serious.  Two weeks ago, the other side hurt after running.  It was hurting in the morning and then got better.  Now, the pain is pretty much gone, but my legs are heavy and tingling somewhat below the knee. (not in a line down from the back, JUST below the knee.)  Should I just wait to see what will happen or should I seek medical attention.  (I'd rather wait...)

J.D.

Thank you

I am 54 years of age and have been having severe problems with my right knee. My Left foot is numb permanently for the last 5 months on the left half of my left foot. My right knee has some slight swelling and is painfully difficult to walk on without a prescription of Ibuprofen (600mg). I also have high blood pressure of 170/100 and I am also taking Irbesartan (300mg).
The doctor says i have atharitis and (wear and tear) on my right knee, and also suffer from bouts of sciatica.
I have had blood tests and my kidnees and my liver are fine aswell as is my cholesteral. X-rays on my knee have also shown that I have worn knees (wear and tear). In addition to this I also work in a restraunt 70-78 hours a week (always on my feet). What are my solutions?

This is probably not related to sciatica at all.  It could simply be tendonitis, or a mild irritation of the posterior capsule of the knee. It could aso be a Baker's cyst, which is a collection of fluid from the knee, which herniates and collects in a "sac" behind the knee.  Worst scenario is a deep vein thrombosis, DVT or blood clot, ehich can be very serious.  Therefore, if it persists, you should see a doctor.
