Lab report -- what does this mean.
I posted last week about how my doctor (orthopedic foot specialist) send the fluid he aspirated from my presumed ganglion cyst in for analysis.
He just called with what he suggested *might* have been an incomplete report -- basically, the report described the fluid (yellowish, slightly turbid, etc), said the culture was negative, and talked about cell counts. He said there was no mention of the presence or absence of any malignant cells. Would such a report indicate the existence of malignant cells, if there were any?
Are there any malignant soft tissue tumors that yield a significant amount of gelatinous yellowish (mostly clearish) fluid?

still sounds like either a ganglion, or an inflamed bursa, either way, it doesn't sound like a malignancy.
Also -- can I continue to be reassured that this is a ganglion?
