23 years old with chronis knee pain what do I do to find relief?

I'm a 23 year old Male, tall and athletic build, who has had 4 knee surgeries. The first two were complete acl and miniscus (both sides of left meniscus) reconstructions and the second two were done in later years to remove further scar tissue and damaged meniscus that continued to get worse. I am now 9 years out from my initial acl reconstruction and my knee couldn't be feeling any worse. I have constant knee pain when sitting with my leg in a bent position, even lying in bed I at times am in discomfort. Standing from seating often causes me to wince in pain. At this point I'm willing to try anything other than a total knee replacement.

Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums.  We appreciate your question but are sorry to hear you have a chronic pain situation.  Hopefully you are talking to your doctor about this and they are helping to work on it with you. When was your last examination?  You have been through quite a lot with your knees!  Was there a particular sport that you were doing that resulted in the injuries you sustained? Doctors usually stand up straight when they hear night pain like you describe (laying in bed).  I would by all means be checked again on this.

But degenerative arthritis is not unusual after the issues and surgeries you've had with your knee. You could also have developed patellar tendonitis. Here is some information on arthritis for you to take a look at. https://www.medicinenet.com/osteoarthritis/article.htm. Does anything like a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication help the pain?

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/patellar-tendinitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20376113.

Let me know what you think of this information and if seeing a doctor soon is an option for you.
