Ankle injury

In October 2013 I injured my ankle after receiving a serve on my forehand. My left foot stayed rooted to the floor and I felt it pull, but not twist. The following day I was in pain and seemed medical attention.
8 months on an MRI shows that the end of the tibia is bruised with white showing around the ankle showing it is still swollen.
I have not played sport since it happened and the ankle is as painful today as when I first did it.
I have had minimal physic and am concerned at the length of time it is taking to heal.

What can I do to speed up recovery.
