Does anyone have a 14 yo girl, still growing with open growth plates and have pain?

My 14 year old daughter is having a lot of back pain. Saw an orthopaedic doctor who took X-rays and found she has open growth plates throughout her spine and mild kyphosis. Her bones are that of a 12 year old. He said it is essentially a waiting game until they close for pain to subside. Earlier this she she sprained her ankle. She is having therapy now because of continued  pain. Dr said she also has open growth plates in ankle. Does anyone have any kids who are experiencing this? Did it get better?
