It can through compensation -- changing your gait or posture to "favor" the knee can cause additional stress of either hip.
Alright! Will do! Can I ask whether a knee pain could cause hip problems?
Hi there! Thanks for the reply!
If you would say rest, I've tried resting for maybe 2 weeks or so, the pain went away but came back. I've also attempted using those sprays that minimize the pain while I dance but it doesn't work either ways. Anyways, I will see the doctor if the pain doesn't subside.
Thanks! =)
Yes, you need to follow up with a doctor.
Traditionally, you'd visit your PCP who will attempt to rule out various problems to make a diagnosis and treat, order diagnostic tests, and treat pain.
If the scope of your complaint is beyond his or her level of care, you'll be provided with a referral to a colleague with expertise in this type of syndrome.
So many athletes believe they can "work through" an injury, when what it really needs is a few weeks rest, especially when the injury involves connective tissue -- tendons, ligaments, cartilage and other areas that have a limited blood supply.
My guess is that you've sustained an injury while dancing or landing and it hasn't had time to heal. Inflammation around a joint causes stiffness and pain, and further aggravation of the injury will continue to produce pain and feed that inflammation. It may be that the continued dancing that is exacerbating the problem. If a cartilage injury is at the center of this trauma, you could be causing further damage.
Remember, this is just my opinion, a guess out of the darkness of ignorance. I know only what you've written about your injury, and that's very little.
Find a good doctor who will help you dance again.
Best wishes.
Yes, please see a doctor for a diagnosis and treatment.
