Inflammed knee joint

I had a total knee replacement in March 2011. All was going well then all of a sudden I started getting pain and  a feeling that my knee was unsteady. I was tested for infection which was clear and had a scan which showed that the new joint was inflammed. Do you have any ideas what to do about it.

Hi there!

Management would depend on the severity of inflammation. For mild/ moderate cases I would suggest rest, ice-packs and anti-inflammatory medications; in addition to treatment of the primary cause, if one is identified. I would suggest discussing the situation and the appropriate management plan in detail with your treating doctor.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
