1) About surgery whatever you have read in internet: we would not think similarly as there are good facilities and experienced orthopaedic surgeons who can relieve major symptoms as there is a long way to go before you have replacement.
2) We have suggested "YOGA" which seems only option to escape surgery, but for that you have to go to the best of people in the world to learn and practice proper "YOGA"
3) TKR should be avoided at young age and try to do as late as possible to impove your quality of life.

Thank you !

I consulted many orthopaedicians but in vain.
I guess my Intermalleolar distance is 9 inches.

I know i cant straighten my legs without surgery . And I m ready to live in this condition but i want to stop this thing from growing . thats all i want.

But no surgery because i read on internet that even after surgery i will be suffering from pain regularly. I would not be nrmal then as i m now. also i had to take TKR in late 40s after this surgery. Also i m a girl of 22.

PLz help me in this regard soon.

I would be very thankful to u sir, plz . Suggest something other than sugery

You have to go near an orthopaedician as you will not understand the Q angle.

T(he Q angle which is formed by a line drawn from the anterosuperior iliac spine through the center of the patella and a line drawn from the center of the patella to the center of the tibial tubercle, should be measured. In women, the Q angle should be less than 22 degrees with the knee in extension and less than 9 degrees with the knee in 90 degrees of flexion. In men, the Q angle should be less than 18 degrees with the knee in extension and less than 8 degrees with the knee in 90 degrees of flexion.)

Follow up near an orthopaedician and surgery is preferred for you so that you can delay the arthritis complications which would require a total knee replacement for later part of life. Take care!

And another thing which is out of medical treatment is "YOGA" . It seems beneficial to many people and we would advice you to visit an yoga expert for further queries. (Virabhadra asana I & II or Warrior pose I & II and Trikonasana ). Take care!

Let us put it straight for you, it all depends on the severity of your genu valgum deformity.
If you have severe valgus deformity, it will give rise to arthritis and you would need total knee replacement in later part of your life.

For minor deformity control your weight and you should always be below your BMI and wear proper shoes and avoid any severe forms of exercise. A corrective osteotomy may be recommended to straighten the legs. This however is more of a cosmetic remedy.

Visit an orthopaedician for examination and with a latest X-rays discuss all the pros and cons. Take care!
