Plantar fasciitis?

I am experiencing pain in both feet on the outsides. Near the cuboid bone I think. I fell about a foot off the ground about 3 weeks ago and pain won't go away. I went to doctors and they took xrays and said I do have bone spurs and he thought the pain was plantar fasciitis. On the side of my feet? Huts mostly when it is touching something and wearing shoes. Will this go away in time? Would a cortisone shot help?
