Really thanks doctor for your valuable reply.Actually i am having problems like pain after eating ,headache, pain in my left chest while sleeping and improper digestion. Is this all because of this..
The lower esophageal sphincter normally relaxes as food is moved down the esophagus by esophageal contractions. These esophageal contractions are started by swallowing. As soon as swallowing stops, the LES closes to keep the food in the stomach. A normally functioning LES prevents food and stomach acid from backing up into the esophagus. All other reports are normal but the LES is lax (decreased tone) resulting in reflus and burning pain. The treatment is medical initially and suits to most but surgical lastly, if not treatable medically. All the best.
