Possible herniated disk?

Hello,

My 14 year old soccer-playing child got banged up playing as a freshman on a varsity team.  Thought she wrenched her back and had it adjusted a couple of times at a chiropractor about 6 weeks ago.  Pain subsided enough for her to finish the season.  Last weekend, wrenched it again during a club team game.  Went to orthopedist who had an xray done.  To me, one of the lower vertabrae seemed out of place but I didn't say anything (there was also a physical therapist in the room and he seemed to notice the same thing).  The ortho didn't make much of it.  He did an exam and came up negative.  He ordered an mri which was done last Friday.  We looked at the images on our home computer (will be going back this coming week to ortho) and to our untrained eyes it seems like she has a herniated disk in her lower back.  (THe pain by the way is lower left back around th etop of the pelvis).  Attached is a jpeg of image 9 of 18.  The third disk from the bottom shows a bit of abnormality for lack of a better word toward the right - would you agree?  I also have other views and those in a direction perpendicular to this if you want to see those.  Thanks!

Thank you for your opinion.  I finally got the orthopedist to review the slides including those that I posted here and he, along with the MD at the MRI lab, agree in the opinion that the spine is normal.  So, I am glad to have that news.  Thanks again!  Take care.

Hi there!

This looks like a normal film, without herniations/ displacements. You may discuss with your orthopedician when the radiologist’s report comes in, after review of the detailed images.

Take care!

I have the same image with the axial zoomed in along side of it.  The more I look at it the more it looks herniated...if I can figure out a way to upload it I will, not wanting to start a new thread...
