Procedure (SHX1070001) from the year 2016-under past surg history.

Might anyone know this code is? SHX1070001?
Might anyone know a procedure called PTA that goes in and out? Ablation or angioplasty? Ortho or cardiac?
Might anyone know what Ane 702.A means? Prolonged anesthesia?
The hospital refuses to tell me what PTA is ....?
Please help if you can as I would greatly appreciate it.

The only thing I can find is:

Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty of the Femoral Artery

SHX is surgical history. Perhaps the number is your patient number?

If this is your surgical history, or someone who you have legal care of, like a child, you have the right to know these things.

Hope that helps some. :)

It is actually for myself and the hospital refuses to tell me what it is.  This happened at a hospital in another state back in 2016 and they have advised me to ask my current doctors who have said I must contact this hospital directly. They refuse and I dont know where to turn. I appreciate your response
CMS says angioplasty, cardiac, abdominal, or of the extremities . I detest providers whose front offices refuse any patient request for their own PHI. Can you speak with your current doctors directly about this matter and not through a third party?
I've never heard of such a thing. I'm so sorry this is happening.

Can you contact the doctors who performed the procedures?

I don't know if this is a legal matter, and I am absolutely not one to give legal advice - you wouldn't want to follow it because I know nothing lol - but maybe a good lawyer could help.
I am sorry. I did and they said it has to come from the Hospital who did it. The hospital is Johns Hopkins
I actually think this was done without my permission. I dont know if it is a part of a TKA? Maybe a complication came up and they had to do a angioplasty? I am not educated enough to understand my medical records and was informed that patients are not suppose to read and understand their records!!!
I'm going to get this moved to the Heart Disease forum - someone may be able to help you more there.

I don't know if anyone can tell you exactly what was done and why, except the doctors and hospital, but maybe someone can help with the abbreviations.

I hope you get answers.
Wait - are the dates the same as the TKA? I also just found that PTA can mean post-traumatic arthritis.

Also found this - https://stanfordhealthcare.org/medical-treatments/a/angioplasty/types/pta-femoral-artery.html

All of this is really speculation. I'm so sorry. (Also, leaving it here in Ortho.)
Auntjessi,Yes this happened on the same day as my tka's and the term PTA in and PTA out. I asked what PTA in and out was and they said Pneumatic Tourniquet Application. I said that that does not make sense as that goes on and off unless I am missing something. I have a DRG which is a spinal cord stimulator. I also am on Butran Pain patch for pain. I have causalgia 2 of lower extremities per my pain specilaist if that helps anyone. I really appreciate all the responses! Thank you all
Did you have bilateral TKAs on the same day? I had that done with a three month interval between them in 2021.
Mr. Presley, no they were done 6 months apart. I was informed to seek out an attorney but when you talk to them you have to know what you are speaking of and as far as I know, they do not interpret your records so all I have is google and you.
Is there any way to contact the orthopedic surgeon for his/her notes on your procedures? I’m fortunate to have had no negative issues with my post-surgical outcome, but the patient portal on my orthopedic providers website includes links to complete notes, imaging, etc. relating to my own procedures.
He left. The hospital is in a uproar over me questioning  Ablation    and or angioplasty   Mention and now refuses to speak ti me. I don’t get it. Don’t I have rights?
I have tons of records
HIPAA requires disclosure of an individual’s protected health information by a covered entity (including hospitals) to the individual if they request it. The timeline being 2016 might muddy the waters of getting that enforced however. This would be a legal matter that you might want or need  to report to the federal HHS or the state AG for resolution.
HIPPA finally did retrieve me all my records and I have them. They have changed and I do not understand them and have questions. It seems logical to call and ask them and I am not allowed. I was informed that all HIPPA can do is provide me with my records, they cannot help with missing information or changed information. They claim they cannot comment on any context  of my records.
Legal matters are out of my areas of expertise for sure. My only qualifications on MedHelp are limited to first-hand patient experiences with TKA as in this case, and in the Eye Care forum. I don’t know if the Orthopedic forum here has a medical professional moderating it or not.
Thank you Mr. Presley. I appreciate you and your help
