I am glad now that I had it done, although I went through periods when I regretted it because it took so long for the pain to completely go away.  It is definitely a test in patience.  Ice packs were most definitely my friend for a long time.

Hi there!

It may take a few weeks/ months for the pain to subside after the surgical procedure and may be around 3-6 months before one starts experiencing pain relief. During the time it is advised to continue with physiotherapy which would help in preventing stiffness and regaining strength as well. Ice-packs and NSAIDS may be used for pain relief. If the pain becomes excruciation or unbearable at any time, it is advised to consult your orthopedician to look for secondary causes and appropriate pain management.
Hope this helps.

Take care!

Hi There
Many thanks for your message; I am being told that it is still eary days, but I was not prepared for this!   Still hurts reaching forward and behind.  I know the last mevement to get back is the reaching up behind back, so that is not a problem its just the pain and the pins & needles in my hand....  still physio weekly for a few more weeks and popping the anti imflamatries should help me I am sure.     I may have to have my left shoulder done as popping and clicking had already started!   Are you glad you had it done?

It took 2 years for my pain to go away completely after my surgery.  11 weeks in I was still in a lot of pain as well.  It gradually got better, but was probably 6 months before I was significantly better and 2 years before I was pain-free.
