I am a 48 yr. old female.  On Monday of last week as I was teaching a piano lesson, I hit my right elbow very hard on the edge of the piano.  I felt a sharp stabbing pain in my elbow and as I reached over to rub the spot I felt a soft, spongy, round object begin to move inside my skin as my hand rubbed the painful area.  The object seemed to have come (in my mind) from the tip of my elbow but I really don't know what it was.  My right hand become numb and my second, third, and fourth fingers curved inward and didn't function as usual.  I continued teaching the lesson.  After a night of really crazy twitching in the right arm, everything seemed to go back to normal.  My elbow is still bruised, but the swelling disappeared in one day, and the crazy angle that the tip of my elbow seemed to adopt has gone back to normal.  Can anyone explain to me what happened?  Should I look forward to any repercussions later on?  Thank you for your time.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

If it is a soft tissue injury it can get back to normal. If it is involvement of bone then it will take least 3 months for healing so get an X-ray done and if the pain subsides there is nothing to worry and with any abnormality and continuing pain you would need to follow up with an orthopedician.

Take care!
