c spine or neuro problem?

I have this sharp shocking pain in my thumb nails and two spots just under my chin, one on the rt and lft. It is very breif but started on the left side first and now the right. It's just a big zap all at the same time. I have no pain in my arms or neck. could a pinched nerve in my neck cause this? I went to my ortho/dr and he said it sounded neuro to him but my reg GP told me poss my neck and scheduled a mri of the c spine.

any suggestions??

mri of c spine results are in and nothing is wrong with my neck.  I really wish I knew what  was causing this.

Thanks for the reply

I have had no back or neck injury, I do have 2 small lesions in my white matter one in the right frontal subcortical measuring 2mm and one left frontal corona radiate also 2 mm. found from mri of the brain in april. I went today and had a mri of the c spine. I guess we will see.
once again thanks

Hello peggy_lee,
It is difficult to diagnose the cause unless you get the MRI done .It seems to be neurological and may be due to entrapment of nerve or cervical spondylosis causing stenosis..Was there any neck or back injury? You need to go for a neurological examination
