Another re Arimidex and OVCA recurrence

Dr. Goodman,

Thanks for your response re Arimidex. You asked if I have discussed RFA with my doctor. Yes, she said it's an option if the Arimidex doesn't work, which we won't know for 3 months (next PET scan).

1. If the Arimidex doesnt' work is it possible that in 3 months the 1 cm lesion on the liver will be too large to do RFA?
2. I've been on the Armidex for 3 weeks. I had no side effects the first 2 weeks. This week I have had gastric distress that reminds me of what I experienced before I was first diagnosed. Could it be from the Arimidex, although not listed as a side effect?
3. What is your opinion of waiting?

Thank you for all you do for us!
Jan

Dear Jan

This is the community forum where the members meet to ask each other questions and offer emotional supprt and not the expert forum.

If you go down the page to the bottom right hand side you will see underneath the Community Members area, the Related Expert Forums and you will see ovarian cancer there.  That is the link to Dr Goodman.

If you look up at the top right hand side, just above Recent Activity there is a search bar that says "Search this Community".  If you enter Arimidex there are about 50 or so posts about this drug. All of them are from within the Ovarian cancer forum, so you will get a lot of good posts from the members here who have taken it.  They will most likely answer your questions about side effects also, that drs don't usually acknowledge.  You know the party line, if it isn't official "it isn't from the chemo".  LOL Alright, no laughing matter, but I think that is what they all say.  All of the questions that Dr Goodman has answered about this drug are there also. So, you can get expert advice on maybe some aspects of this you hadn't thought to ask about.

If after looking at the archives you have questions, it is usually best to start a new post, as most people don't know what to make of a post that shows up two years later.

Good luck, and do come back and talk to some of the women who have experience with this drug.
