REST and take it slow! Glad you are home and I hope you are feeling better soon!
Oh Becky, I am so sorry you have to have this. I can sympathize some, but I only had a catheter and didn't have to hav something sticking out of my ribs. That must be awfully painful. Can you use the fentanyl patches. They are wonderful but don't make you sick or loopy like the other pain meds. You don't feel anything at all except the absence of pain. I am praying for you sweetie. I am always thinking about little Ty. I remember my mom having this when I was his age and I never got to see her because back then they just put you in the hospital until...... I am so glad you get to be home with him. Take care honey.
Love,
Jan

Hi everyone...I'm at home now, still in a lot of pain and discomfort. I'm not taking the heavy duty pain meds anymore though - they made me far too sick! I couldn't keep much down last night, but I feel better this morning. The procedure went ok, but the doc had to thread my nephrostomy tube through my lower ribs to get to my kidney - I guess my torso was too short. You can imagine how much that hurts...everytime I breath, I can feel pain. Not fun...
Not enjoying having a bag of urine following me verywhere I go, but I suppose it's one of those things I just have to get used to...
I'll be back later...need to rest.
love Becky
p.s. Thanks Susy for remembering about my surgery...
