Had my surgery!

Hey all,

I had my surgery on Friday and was scared to death. I supposedly had a 6 cm complex cyst on my left ovary that was suspicious of cancer. Thankfully everybody at the hospital was SUPER nice and friendly and made me feel comfortable. I went in for surgery and it turned out whoever wrote the ultrasound made a mistake! Yikes! I ended up having 2 fluid filled cysts (not any bigger than a golf ball) one on each side. One was on top of my ovary and the other was inside. I guess one was already starting to rupture so they had to clean that up then drain the other one. And I guess I had a touch of endometriosis too! Needless to say, it was a benign situation, I have 2 little incisions and was able to go home that day. They still have to send the fluid to pathology to double double check but my doc said no sign of cancer. Just goes to show you how even DOCTORS make mistakes. Now I am just sore in my tummy and my throat is sore from the tube they put down your throat when you are under ....ugh Thank you for everybodys advice that was given to me on here. I really learned alot from this whole thing and now am trying to get well and de-stress!!!!

Thanks for telling me. I went through labor, on petocin for 8hrs with no pain medicine. Then had a c-section, and didnt take any pain medicine for that. So hopefully it wont be that bad. I have asked the question alot and all anyone tells me is the pain with the gas. THANK YOU for giving me a straight answer.

The pain is not bad for me, but everybody is different. I woke up feeling very sore. It's been 2 days since my surgery and I am just a little bit sore. Is hard to move around like normal. I've been taking IB Profen only (no pain killers). My throat is a little bothersome too (sore and coughing) from the tube they put down your throat when you are under. I have read that that is normal though. The only other pain that was weird but is normal is the pain you get in your side and neck from the gas they fill you up with during the surgery. But once you stand up and move around it goes away.
