Home form hospital

Hi everyone, this is the THIRD time I have tried to post this, so hopefully it happens this time.  LOL  First off,  I want to say thank you all for your prayres and warm wishes.  They did the job because surgery went fairly well.  The doctor was able to remove the cyst (and remnant!!! WOO HOO) without any damage to my ureter tube.  She said it was 6cm (I forgot to ask if solid or fluid filled and she did not say.  HUM....question to add for appt on thrusday) and it was wrapped completely around the tube.  She also said that my stomach was a terrible mess of scar tissue.  She had to move the bowels and bladder to be able to clean them well.  When she was removing scar tissue from my bladder, I got a 1/2 cm tear in the bladder that she was able to patch (which means I had to come home with the cathater and will have it till Thrusday or Friday).  She had a general surgeon come in to make sure she "got everything" which I am not sure what that means.  I will have to remember to ask her that on Thursday.  Getting the drainage tube out has been the worst part of recovery so far.  The poor nurse thought it was just in about a quarter of an inch, and it turned out that there was at least a foot of tubing in.  I about passed out and she kept telling me how sorry she was (she had reassured me it would not be as bad as last time, and it was worse).  I came home lastnight and took a shower like they advised.  The shower felt great, but by the time I got dried off, I was bawling like a baby.  I was in so much pain and so tired.  Poor Keith did not know what to do with me for the 45 minutes that I had the breakdown.  He gave me my pain meds, and antineausia meds and sat me in a chair.  We watched some tv  and then I slept most of then night.  Today has not been bad.  I have played scrabble with Sharon most of the day.  I am pretty tired (and tire reallly easily), so I am not sure when I will be back on tonight.  Just wanted to fill you all in and say how much I love you all.  I will be posting this on the ovca so the ladies over there know what is going on too.  Hope this made sense, srugery brain you know.  LOL  Love you, Kasie

I'm so glad your home and recovering from the surgery. I sounds like you had a bit more than you thought with the nick and the catheter, sorry you had to go through that. Rest and let yourself heal now, and at least on Friday you can have the cath out, which will be more comfortable.
Keep us posted when you feel up to it,
Hugs
Valerie

Kasie,
I am so glad that you are home now and hopefully recovering nicely. Just don't overdo it, REST, REST, REST.  Sleep as much as you can as that is the best thing! I think I answered this on your other post (forum) but wanted to say welcome to the recovering part! I will continue to keep you in my prayers for a speedy, healthy recovery and all good news! Hugs, Colleen
