Recovery after Cyst removal

I had a 16 cm cyst removed from my right ovary 6 days ago. They Kept me in the hospital for 2 nights (until I passed gas). When I was discharged no one mentioned how painful the constipation would be. The pain meds help with the pain of incision but the side effects are sooooo painful. I've had headaches that feel like migraines that last hours and hours, I'm dizzy, nauseous (vomited a few times which hurts like hell), and the gas and constipation is a bit unreal. None of these things occurred when I was in the hospital and no one mentioned they might occur. The doctor says they are all just side effects :-( Getting up and back down is hard but once I'm up walking around is not so bad. I'm hoping all this goes away in a few days because I'm not sure how much I can take. Did anyone else have excruciating headaches after surgery?? Did you find anything that helps?

Was your surgery done laparoscopically or abdominally? They inflate your belly with gas for laparoscopy which can make for some unpleasant after effects as your body tries to rid itself of the gas. Some say that gas-x is helpful. If you don't gradually improve over the next few days, you should call your doctor. And if you feel you need medical attention before that, don't hesitate to see a doctor.

Hello I have not had my surgery yet. But I will definitely be having one to remove a 10cm mass from my left ovary and a 4cm plus 3cm crenated comolex cust from my right. I am very scared and wanted to ask you what the prep and surgery is like. My mom had a 10cm dermoid mass removed a long time and she tells me the only problem she had was pain. But her surgery was done vaginally. I had a C-sectiin eith my son and most of what you are feeling is exaclty how I felt after surgery. I eoukd recommend taking it easy and make sure you are eating well. Sometimes not eating right and bot sleeping enough can cause headaches. As far as the gas and stool probkem. My doctor gave me stool softeners which really helped. Maybe you can ask your doctor for some?
