Ok, I just got diagnosed with a huge 22 cm Ovarian Cyst on my right ovary & I am having exploratory laprotomy tomorrow along with the removal of my right ovarian cyst and right fallopian tube. To be honest, I'm scared to death; I'm 25 and have never had surgery before. I know there are a lot of women out there who suffer from this daily & I've tried to see if there was another alternative; but my OBGYN says this surgery is required. The whole thing...is just like being in a nightmare...one that I hope to permanently wake up from after the surgery. I have no idea what to expect. Does the anesthesiologist actually stay in the room during the surgery & if not, how the heck will he be able to tell if something bad happens? I'm just a jumbled up mess right now. In short, everything from the actual surgery & other things in between worry me.
