Hysteroscopy and Laparascopy- three days later

Hi. I am a 26 year old mother of an 8 year old. I am not currently sexually active. My hormones are all in range but I have been having irregular periods, meaning I missed two this year (2016) and when I do get them, cramps are severe as are mood changes and other unpleasant PMS-related symptoms. On top of these issues, I had a small (not sure of exact size, sorry) hemorrhagic cyst rupture very recently. The pain felt worse than labor contractions and is actually still going on! I went to the ER a week ago and they had me follow up with my ob gyn, who really just confirmed that yes it had ruptured and had a very slow leak, and also that my endometrium was thickened. She then scheduled both a hysteroscopy and laparascopy which I had done last Friday (three days ago now) It was my first surgery ever and so far recovery has been very difficult and painful, but I am managing. My question is- the doctor never followed up with me after the surgery, I am having to wait a week until my in office follow up appointment. So I am wondering, if it was anything severe, like cancer (both ovarian and uterine run in my family) would I find out at this upcoming appointment? I'm just having a LOT of anxiety and would appreciate advice or shared experiences. Thank you and sorry this wasn't written so well! Maybe more than anything I just would like to connect with people who have had these same issues.

Sorry you're dealing with this. It's odd that your doctor never followed up with you after surgery leaving you to wait a week. Hopefully, nothing serious was found. Let us know what you find out. You are still early post-op so it's normal to be in pain. I hope you start feeling better soon!

Thanks for your comment and for caring! Sorry for the delayed response and who knows if anyone will actually read this but it turns out I have stage 3 endometriosis! :( Doctor gave me a few options and after considering them all, I went with a daily birth control pill called Minestrin 24. I go back in 3 months to discuss if they're helping and possibly for another laparascopy but hopefully not. Anyway, not cancer so I am relieved about that but still sad it's a painful disease with no permanent cure. So anyone with endometriosis or symptoms of it, talk to your doctor about how to get a diagnosis and begin exploring treatment options because it only gets worse -Hannah

Also I forgot to include that my annual paps and colposcopy have all been abnormal the last two years, last one as recently as a month ago. They come back as low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions, so yes I have hpv unfortunately. Is that always the kind that causes cancer? I'm very scared it will progress to that
