Withdrawal

On zanax 1mg fo 6 months, how do you safely get off this med?

Very slowly is the way,usually they only prescribe Xanax for a short time even a few weeks as it known to be addictive, may be good to speak to your Doc but if you do it bit at a time you should be okay .

First of all - - you should also post this question on the Addiction Substance Abuse Forum - - lot more experience there for your question...........but for now - - zanax must be tapered very slowly to get off of it - - strong risk of complications including seizures and suicidal ideation along with some completed suicides from attempting to quit cold turkey.  The absolute best authority on benzo's would be at -------  benzo.org UK - Ashton Manual -------  You cant even learn too much about it at all....................And good luck to you!
