Concerned about levels of Oxycontin being taken

My ex has some chronic pain and along respiratory problems. I know that recently he has been taking around 560 mg of Oxycontin every 12 hours. Given his respiratory problems, isn't this a dangerous amount to be taking? He seems to think it's not a big issue.

Thank you for any feedback.

My hubby takes the 12 hr oxycontin also but he also takes in with other pain meds as well.  The 12 hr oxycontin is a slow release pain med intended to give pain relief evenly throughout the 12 hr period.
