Are you saying as of right now you have no pain Dr? Sorry, but I'm confused about this. If the new Dr is refusing to treat you because you want to go down on your medication then I recommend you talk to your primary Dr. He/she may be able to help you find another pain Dr or clinic.
I also don't understand why they keep prescribing a pain medication to you that you can not take. It's a waste of time and money to go pick them up and then just flush them.
You do have some choices. Find another pain specialist that knows about different types of treatments. You can stop taking your medication, only with the help of your Dr of course. Marijuana did help your pain? Some Drs will prescribe this is pill form. It may depend on what state you live in and of course, the Dr.
If it were me I would get started right away on finding a new pain specialist. Hopefully you will find one who will listen to what your needs are.
Why would you continually pickup and pay for pain meds, just to flush them? That doesn't make sense and any doctor that hears that is going to assume you are selling them. That is what a lot of people do. You need to stop doing that if you want a doctor to work with you. I'm glad the medical marijuana is helping. Good luck.
You have a BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT!
That's all that can be said -- no words, no advice, no suggestions -- you are already a leader, you are already on the right track -- you just hang in there and don't let anybody bring you down!
If your new doctor can't make you happy, see if you can find a different one. A doctor should be proud and honored to have you as a patient. You shouldn't settle for anything less than that!
Best wishes!
