EXCITED TO SEE THE GI DOCTOR TODAY

How bad is it when your excited to see your GI doctor today so you can figure out what's going on with my stomach.  I see him at 3:15pm and then I'll be going to see my sister after that (sorry I don't know if I'm allowed to put that in) but I'm very excited to see the GI doctor to see if he can figure out what causing all the issues in my stomach.  Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers on this.  I appreciate you.  Tuck, Sherry, Bree, Sandee, Sara, Flower, Mary, Alison, Jaybay, Dontunderstand, and everyone else, a HUGE THANK YOU and hope you all have a pain free day!

I am so very sorry that yet another problem has come up for you. I have tears and there are no words to express how terribly saddened I am that your news was so frightening. There are no reasons why bad things happen to good ppl. My heart goes out to you.

I am not a religious fanatic but prayer, and lots of it helps during times like this. That's exactly what I am going to do. Turn to your God and He will support and comfort you.

Ask many questions when you see you surgeon again. Write them down as they some to you so you will not forget them. The more you understand the more at ease you will be. Ask what is the best and the worst prognosis and out come. Truly know what you are facing and it may not be so frightening. The fear of the unknown is usually more difficult that knowing exactly what this may mean.

Do you have greasy or oily foul smelling stools? It called steatorrhea. What level is your abd pain? Are you still experiencing nausea or vomiting? Does your pain abdominal pain lessen if you curl up in a ball or bend forward? Those are some symptoms of pancreatitis.

Blood sugars (BS) can elevate when your body is under stress. Insulin is a hormone released by the pancreas. Hyperglycemia or elevated BS is found in diabetes mellitus, liver disorders, hyperactivity of thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands.

Following my MVA when I suffered massive amounts of internal injuries and during recovery my BS skyrocketed and I required insulin. As I healed the BS returned to normal and has remained that way. I have seen it occur in other patients also. Evaluating all your lab work and fitting the pieces together to determine the most likely diagnosis will require your physician's education, training and experience. Our body works together in unison to maintain a healthy balance. One problem can and does affect a variety of organ functions. I assume your physician is trying to determine that ONE problem that is revealing itself in your abnormal lab finding. Trusting in him and your God right now is very important.

Did you give the date of your surgery....Did I miss the it?  When is your surgery scheduled?

Again we are here for you. Chat when ever you need to do so. Please keep us posted and let us know how you are doing. We are here for you. You are one of our MH family and we will support you the very best we can to help you through whenever lies ahead.

You'll be in my thought and prayers.
I'm sending you Huge Gently ((HUGS)),

Honey,

I can't even think of ANYTHING to say after the report that you have gotten today!!! I'm VERY glad that you have such a THOROUGH Doctor!!  I'm VERY sorry but I haven't seen this post until now today as I've been gone MOST of the day today!

Karen,  are you sure that you don't want to go back in where they can control your Horrendous pain that you are having?  That CERTAINLY explains why the new pain meds haven't been able to give you ANY relief!!  Does he have any suggestions for controlling your pain at the present time while you are at home?

PLEASE tell me that you AREN'T going to go back in to the office to work while your pain is still so strong.

Sweetie, you are a VERY strong person and you have endured SOOOO very much this past year.  I can't think of anyone else that could have done ANY better than you have with all that you have had to deal with.    You know that you have a VERY strong Support group right here!!  Everyone will be here for you while your GI Doctor gets ALL of this straightened out for you so you can get back to NORMAL!!!  I hope and pray that he will find WHAT is going on and get it TAKEN CARE OF one way or another (meaning either through surgery OR medication) whatever it takes!!

I'm here WHENEVER you need me.  As is EVERYONE else is also.

Again I'm VERY sad that I didn't see your post earlier today!! :(

I love you and I'm thinking of you.  As always you are in my Prayers......Mama Sherry

Karen! I can't believe this! I'm sure all of us will be thinking and praying for you.  When is the next thing scheduled for? Did you make it in to see your sister?
In a way, hopefully an exploratory surgery will give them all the info they need, and everything can be taken care of instead of all of these extra surgeries happening.  I know you must feel just awful, and I want to remind you that you are such a strong caring person, and you have been through so much, and you've gotten through it because you are STRONG.  You've been dealt bad cards before, and now you will deal with this, and I know you can do it.  And we will all be here along the way no matter what!
Please msg me whenever---especially if you are up in the middle of the night, send me either a PM or FB msg so I see it right away just in case I'm not on the site...I'm not saying that I'll always be up, but 75% of the time, I am.  I hope you've been able to dry your tears for a bit...we can do this! We'll do it together:)

Melissa,

I'm just so sorry to hear about your friend, too.  Is there anything that I can do for you?  Flower, thanks for the nice words and prayers.  I just have to get over this.  I'm looking at ten sheets of paper that has all my blood work up, and it's freaking me out becuase almost none of the results are bad.  I'm not sure why the GI doctor gave these to me, but now I'll never be able to sleep with how bad that they look.  NO wonder he wanted to put me in the hospital again, and no wonder I was there for eight days.  It makes a lot of sense now.  Anyway, I don't know what to do, except have the surgery for them to make sure I don't have any other internal damage, and then have some A1C test done, I have no idea what that is, and I need to get to my endocrinologist because my thyroid test is way bad, and then my anemia level is pretty low too.  I just got to hang on here, somehow...  It's really hard, especially since I've been crying for an hour or so.
