How long should it take a pulled muscle to heal?

About 13 months ago I pulled my right Pec I am still have problems with the muscle and have tried not to re injure it which as been impossible do to the fact I am constanly having to use my arms to work.  What I wanted to know was since I've had a ekg and a chest e-xay last year could the pain I am still feeling be acid reflux that I have been told I have as of last year also. The pain also goes from my collarbone, where there is a fleshy lump, around the breast bone, under my right breast and my breast is sometimes sore, even my should blade and underarm gets sore sometimes. I am going for a mammogram next week. Its weird because its feels as if its behind the breast.  What are your thoughts on this subject? Shouldn't it be better by now???

If you consume a lot of caffeine it can cause this type of pain. Do you have any type of fibromyalgia or arthritis? it can also cause this kind of pain.  I too get these symptoms and it seems to be hormonal and tends to occur when my period is due.  If you are drinking coffee try to stop and see if you notice a difference. I am hoping it's something as simple as that.  Best of luck and keep us posted.

Also back last Feburary I had what my doctor call estrogen overload. I had been taking bioidentica lhormones,I do not now. When this happen my right breast was so sore and the surrounding areas I could not hardly raise my arm for two weeks,I would scream when I turned over in the bed. I'll let you know what the mammogram says.
\Thanks so much for replying to my question

Hello Mafabo,

I too would thing that your pulled muscle would have healed by now. I assume you are a female. Your symptoms sounds like fibrocystic breast disease.

Woman with fibrocystic breast disease do not have an increased cancer risk. Breasts are often painful and contain "bumps." This pain and "bumps" can extend under the arm, into the rib cage and under your breast. In my case the pain also can extend upward to the collarbone. Initially when I was first diagnosed in my early twenties my left breast would become so painful that laying on my left side would wake me.  Decreasing caffeine and reducing fat intake has been helpful. In fact if I avoid it all together I do not have this pain. But I cannot resist a latte, cola's or chocolate here and there. My PCP also suggested I take Vit E. Some PCP beleive it to be helpful while others do not.

I am not saying that you have this condition. I'm just suggesting that it may be a possibility. The mammogram will provide you with better answers.

Good luck to you. Please let us know how you are doing. I will watch for your updates with interest.

Take Care,
Tuck
