Hi Worried,

Thank you for taking the time to post at our Pain Mangement Forum. I see you have spelled the medication two different ways. I assume you mean Naproxen, trade name Naprosyn, also know as Aleve. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Is that correct?

I would not make it a practice or habit of taking acetaminophen (apap) and naproxen together. One time should not be harmful. Acetaminophen is not classified as a NSAID.

Your best source of drug information is from your pharmacist. They are an excellent and under utilized source for medications and interactions of drugs. They truly are the experts in the area.

Hope this is helpful. Consult your physician or pharmacist for their opinions but I do doubt if one time will be harmful. I take hydro 10/325 and I do occasionally take OTC medications with it when I have a headache or a pain flare. I approved it first with my PCP on which OTC medication to take. So always check.

Good luck and take care.
