L5/S1 epidural gone wrong

I've been going to a Pain Mgmt doctor for 10 yrs for a herniated L5/S1 disc. On Methadone tabs 120mg/day, but tried an epidural injection series of 3 visits. (only made it thru 1). After the first 4 injections into the nerve root (2 on ea side), I felt a shooting pain down my leg, and the doctor said "this is a good thing". Now, over a month later, I'm still experiencing pain down the back of my right thigh, behind the knee, and into the right calf muscle. It worsens the more I stand or sit throughout the day (I'm always home now on Social security disability). The only thing that gives me temporary relief is laying in bed in the fetal poistion with a head pillow between my legs. (I also have double plantar fasciitis and both ankles hurt). I can't take this nerve pain anymore. I'm going for a nerve study in 2 wks, hope that helps. Is there anything that can relieve this leg pain?

Hi my name is Lynn I am 23 years old and i'm from Scotland.
I am 5'1" and I gave birth to a 9lb12 and half ounce baby in November 2004.  I was induced on my due date due to me suffering with Pubic Bone Dysfunction from just 5 months of pregnancy. Anyway, during my labour I had two shots of pethadine and used gas and air. It wasn't working so I asked for an epidural. During the procedure the doctor said that there was a minor complication, my husbands face looked liked he'd seen a ghost, he told me not to look around that there was lots of blood. I finally gave birth after 27 hours but giving myself a 3rd degree tear in the process.  I was able to return home but the first evening in bed, I got lots of cold sensations up my arms and down my legs.  I honestly thought I had taken I bad reaction to the meds, this was just a one off incident.  I then visited the docs 3 months later due to severe lower / mid back pain.  They told me to wait a year and it will have gone.  now my son is 4 and I am taking co-codamol 30/500mg, 8 per day.  I've been to see the docs on several occasions and physiotherapists also, the docs just give me more drugs and the physio's all give me different diagnosis'.  I want to try for another baby, but can't until I come off of these tablets and strengthen my back.  Can anyone give me helpful advice or tips?
I have already gave up dental nursing as the pain was too overwhelming, I'm looking to train as a dental therapist but scared incase I wont beable to do it with the constant bending.
Thanks everyone....
