Hello Sanjay,

Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post.

Where is the calcification in your arm? I assume it is mineral calcium deposits? When these deposits occur they can become a major cause of ongoing chronic pain.

There are other treatments besides PT/exercise. Steroid injections, acupuncture or
arthroscopic surgery are a few of them. If you have not noticed an improvement it's time to attempt other treatments. I wouldn't necessarily change physicians at this point. He/she just needs to take a more aggressive approach.....and may very well do so when you return for follow-up.  Obviously if your physician is not willing to treat your pain and condition more aggressively then I would certainly consider a second opinion.

At the very least you should be kept comfortable until this condition resolves or is remedied. Discuss the possibilities with your physician. Be assertive.

I hope you will keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I'll look forward to your updates. If you can provide additional information that may help you obtain better suggestions from our community.

Best of luck to you.

Take Care,
~Tuck

I would advise finding a new doctor if your doctor is not giving you a satisfactory answer or treatment plan. It may simply be something that requires treatment and time to get better, but if you feel like there's something that needs further evaluation or treatment, either request it from your current doctor or find a new one. at the least, your doctor should help you manage your pain with either NSAID's, physical therapy, or stronger pain medicines if the pain is interfering with your life. Has your doctor recommended a follow-up to see if the pain has gotten better? are you concerned because you think there's something MORE or DIFFERENT wrong with your arm? Either way. I would recommend you start with a visit to your doctor and tell him exactly this "It's been two months and the pain is the same. do we need to change tactics, or run more tests? i am not satisfied with what we've done to this point."

good luck..
