hey now---i think it is smart of you to be asking questions and trusting your intuition that it might be bad for you but you are asking the wrong people----we know nothing about you at all! I am afraid i will have to agree with weathergirl21 on this one! Ask the doc. om
I think it's great that you are wanting to help but I don't see where any of us can actually tell them what is appropriate and what isn't with medication. We do not know their underlying health issues, if any, and whether these are prescribed by one Dr. or two.
So...it's one thing to talk about if you have done this but just feel it isn't safe to tell others what they should do medically....
Just my own opinion:)
Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS.
In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses.
But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
hi you guys: what is mobic? Ssgtwirtz--when did you realize you had worries about this combo of drugs? And i see this sort of question a lot about patients leaving the dr. office without full knowledge of effects. Then many times unless directly asked the same for the pharmacy! I know it should be patients responsibility but often they are occupied with more pressing concerns---pain---sickness- anxiety etc. so maybe----maybe the drs. ands pharmacists are just not taking the time for it? Time is money--know what i mean. omhome
Hi there.....May I ask if they are being prescribed by the same Dr.?
Even if so, it's always the Pharmacist who runs the check for interactions between medications so speak with them in addition to asking your Dr. if he wants you to be taking these two together or space them apart by x amount of hours. Many Drs. are not aware of specific interactions of all medications so this is why it's also important to only use one Pharmacy.
No one here can give you the ok but a few phone calls should have you all set!
Good luck..
