Neurotin????

My insurance just began last week, which I have been without for 2 years. Before my coverage ended I was on neurotin for nerve pain in my hands and fingers. I went to a doctor at one of the clinics in Walmart and she said that she would not be able to prescribe the neurotin because she is not my family doctor. I have an appointment but it is in one month and I am miserable. Does anyone think the ER would be able to prescribe me the neurotin to ease my pain? just until i can see my doctor?
