I just got back from my pain doctor(old dr)..he walked in the room and said "there's nothing else i can do for you" we are going to refer you to another urologist. he gave me vicoprofin and that's about it. I told him that i've been having suicidal thoughts and depressed etc. he wants me to see a pschiatrist to get a pysch evaluation done. He said he cannot prescribe me anything stronger than vicoprofin because it would surely "ruin me"
I went to my PCP and told her what's going on and how bad I'm in pain. She suggested another PMP so i scheduled an appointment and waited to see the dr. I finally got in to see him and the "resident" doctor looked me over and I explained to him what was going on etc. The doc came in the room and was very rude uncaring was talking on his cell phone keep leaving talking on his cell. Finally they scheduled a nerve block that the first doctor had already tried and didn't give me anything for pain. I left very unhappy and i'm going back to see the "old" dr on friday. I'm not seeing any hope at the end of the tunnel. I think I'm going to have to lay it all on the line for my PMP and tell him about my thoughts etc.even though i'm scared of the results.
Hello,
I am sorry that you are is so much pain. Have you thought of asking for a referral to a Pain Management Clinic? Your PMP has obviously weaned you off narcotics. That puzzles me.
As Brian said it depends on which state you are in. I am in WI and chronic pain sufferers are also followed by our PCP.
In my opinion you need to find another PMP that will treat your pain. It may take you awhile but start looking. Your PCP may have alternative suggestions for you. Good luck to you and please let us know how you are doing.

All the symptoms you mentioned 'CAN' for sure be related to low back problems. For instance....Testicle pain can mean you have a trapped nerve but there also could be other reasons. The same can be said for bladder and urination issues. I'm not sure which state you are in? I am in Wa State and my PCP is my main provider for my long term chronic pain. I believe in some states they don't? Start with your PCP and he/she will know best what course of action would be best for you.
Keep us up to speed on what happens.
All the best.
Brian.
