Hi....
I have a suggestion for you...
1) Hot compresses several times a day! If its a clogged oil gland or a clogged eyelash hair follicle...you will need to "heat up" the stagnant oil. This can be done using a hot wet compress several times a day. I kow its painful, but as soon as it comes to a head and pops or drains, the pain should subside. If you are not getting relief...go to an Ophthalmologist...they can prescribe an antibiotic eye ointment and will instruct you to use "warm wet compress several times a day". LOL
I think you have a general idea what to do. OH...STOP wearing eye make up! Throw out mascara and once healed buy new hypo allergenic type. Eye liner and eye pencils are also culprits to styes an chalazions.
Good luck Lady!
Thye actually have OTC eye drops for that now. They really work...When you go ask the pharmacy the eye drops for the stye, they may have more than one name brand..
It's probably a stye. (Funny, we just had another probably stye question on the board!) A stye is an inflamed oil gland just inside the lash line, and as you've noticed, it's very irritating and can cause exquisite pain. Styes are basically pimples, and like pimples the best thing you can do is leave them alone to rupture on their own. If it doesn't go away in a week, see your doctor.
