Pain in the left arm , in the scapula , and in the shoulders and in the muscles

Hello ,

iam student of medicine , right now iam in the second year , i have 20.5 years old .

around 15 of april 2010 , i have pain in my left arm ( all the arm ) included weakness in the hand , also pain in back like in the region of the scapula , also some time pain in the region of clavicula , and also in the region of the pectorals major muscle ,  and also some time i feel like pain in my heart i don't if i feel right or not .

any way , i used in the region of the pain volutarin cream , but without any benefits , so i decided to go the doctor ,

and this the analysis that i have made :

1) ECG - the result was fine , without any abnormal disorded
2) blood anaylsis for cholesterol , triglycerides , HDL and LDL - also all the result was fine , i mean that all the level was like in the middle ( not min and not max ) .

i went to the doctor again and he told maybe it's just small problem with the muscle , so he gave me some Tablets , for relaxing of the muscles, and another tablets of inflammation , and another like parachetamol .
and she told me to take the tablets for around 10 days , in the period the level of the pain decreased ,
but after this period the pain return back again to it's initial state , some how more pain in my hand and also in the same place that i mentioned above .

so , please doctors help me ,what you can say , what's you forecast diagnostic , and also if there some suggestion for tablets that can help me .

regards regards , and waiting for respond

Samer

about 3 months ago i had the exact same problem i mean word for word what u described was me. turned out i had ruptured my c5 c6 c7 discs in my neck pinching the nerve cauing pain weakness numbness etc i just recently had spianl fusion surgery to correct only problem is i may have waited to long. i have no health ins. so in order 4 me to get the surgery the doctor wanted a 4000 dollar downpayment finally got it together  its been 3 months now since surgery and now heres the kicker he removed and replaced the bones and got it off the nerve, but as you might guess i am still in pain and i am  still having no sensation in left hand. doc forgot to mention to b4 the surgery that if i waited to long i might damage the nerve and never recover!! get it checked out man

Hi Samer:  I'm not a doctor but your pain sounds familiar to me.  Have you had any tests run on your cervical neck area?  That may shed some light on your problem.  I don't know this, just a pain patient's suggestion.

About the Voltaren gel. It's very good for muscle pain and I use it on my hands (bone spurs).  However, the literature on it indicates it's effectiveness against spinal pain is not proven.  My son was given it for his knee.  And for me, it hasn't done much for my neck pain.

Anyway, just a thought.  You'd definitely need a physician to diagnose the cause of your pain.

There are FREE forums over there also. If you go over to the Dr.s forum and click on "Chronic Pain" and it will bring up a screen that asks for your CR. Card #er BUT is you look further down the page it lists FREE forums and one of them is Pain Management and that is the one that you should click on and then they can help you and it won't cost anything. Just repost what you posted here but be sure you add the information about the meds that you have taken that helped because that will give them an idea of the type of pain relief that you received.

Looking forward to your updates on here.

Best of luck to you...Sherry

Samer,

Like I said before this is a patients forum, but you are WELCOME to stay here also and MAYBE someone here has had something similar to you and would have an idea what is going on with you. It just wouldn't be a Doctors opinion. We would live to have you stay here also.

God Bless you also....Sherry

Welcome Samer,

I'm so very sorry that you are experiencing so much pain.

I think that you might be in the wrong forum. This is NOT a Doctor's forum. this is the Chronic Pain Patients  Forum.

If you will go back up to the forums tab at the top of the page and click on it, you  will notice that the forums on the RIGHT SIDE of the page are the DOCTOR FORUMS.

If you will choose one from that list then you will have the Doctor's try to help you.
It would help when you post on there if you would tell them which meds and the doses and frequency in which you are to take your meds.

This forum is for support from Chronic Pain Patients to try to help each other with their different experiences that they have gone through. But most importantly, it is to give each other the moral support that we need when experiencing the pain that we do daily.

You are more than welcome to join and post on here also.

Good luck and I hope that you can find some answers quickly....Sherry
