Piles, Pain

Last month I was suffering from piles. First three days blood came while passing stools, then bleeding stops and pain started. There were severe pains for 3- 5 days. Then I took some precautions like drinking butter milk, fiber diets and took medicine named daflon. But I recovered 3-4 days after when  sitting in  warm water 2 times  a day.
Now after 15 days again problem started, this time bleeding is not there. But i am having lot of pains while passing stools and after . Pain goes for 5-6 hours and in evening time it decreases. Kindly guide what precautions should I take.

Hi!
There are hemorrhoidal creams available in the market which you can apply. Often they have a pain killer gel in them. If there is no pain killer in them, you can buy xylocaine jelly and apply it gently on the outside of the anal opening. Wait for 5 minutes and gently apply slightly into the opening. You can then apply the hemorrhoidal cream. Sit in a tub of warm water for 10 mins at least twice a day. Reapply the hemorrhoidal cream after this.

Increase fiber in your diet. Eat lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, oats, porridge etc. Good sources of fiber are fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. In addition you can try bulk stool softener such as psyllium (Metamucil) or methylcellulose (Citrucel). Remember too much of fiber and not proportionate increase in fluid can also cause constipation.

Consult your doctor regarding this. Most doctors can diagnose hemorrhoids by clinical examination of the anal opening or by proctoscopy (inserting a proctoscope, an instrument to visualize the anal mucosa better). If all these measures fail, you will need banding or surgery—either conventional or laser. You should ideally consult a colo-rectal surgeon for this. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
