Please help.. I'm lost

I am praying that someone can help me, I have been taking loratab 10 off and on since my back surgery in 2004 I take 2 sometimes 3 a day, more important I have been battling shingles  and PNh pain, and the pain on my face , ears eyes.. Most times I just go to my 30 check up and say nothing about all the pain I'm still having but this time I did , and now he wants me to try methadone, Im very concerned about this , but he said he wants me to try it, I broke down Lastnight and took one 10 mg , after about an hour I got so sick, my face and pain in my body has been unreal all day. Any advice would help me so much ...

Mamateama .. Yes I know that's one of the reasons I'm so worried,, I've been taking loratab for my back surgery pain and now my shingles, I have been going to the same dr for years always get the same pain meds.. Never say much about the pain but this time I did ,, he started to give me morphine,  but I can't take that,  so out of nowhere he gives me methadone. Anyone that has been through this or has experience with this would be great full for the help.

I think he should start u on 5's instead of 10 IF u decide to take it.  All pain meds can make u sick, so it's best to start low then gradually increase dosing. I've been on methadone for 6 yrs and i wish i never took it becuz to tell u the truth nothing really works in the way of pain meds. And they ALL  are ADDICTING. That right there will cause u more problems than u already are dealing with. This a BIG  decision, please think carefully!  Maybe try the heat packs. Any of the many ways to alleviate pain, give them an HONEST try &  Maybe that'll help. Goodluck Ps remember if u take pain meds and want to do it legally then u r going to be tied to ur doc with an ivisible ball and chain, not all dr.s are willing to give people in pain ANY  pain meds at all!
