The long awaited time arrived last Friday,3/31/11,and I had my "Trial 2-week supply" of prialt put in my pump. The Dr. told me that if it worked for me I would know it by Monday,4/4/11 at the latest. Big disappointment ! No more effective in releiving the pain than the dilaudid or morphine was and very expensive. So, I;m back where I started. Just posting this as additional data re.prialt.

You're right ! I googled it, after I found that I was misspelling it, and found out all I wanted to know about Prialt. Google referred me to WebMD which had many "user comments" listed. The negatives outweighed the positives 7 to 3. My pain specialist didn't tell me a thing about the possible adverse side effects. Only that Prialt might do for me what morphine or dilauded hasn't. I'm scheduled to see him again just prior to having my pump refilled, at which time I will tell him of my concerns. I am very upset that he didn't inform me of the possible side effects when we discussed changing meds.

Hi zbignue,

I'm assuming, as did Geminigirl, that you are referring to Prialt. :)  The web site that geminigirl suggested you go to is EXCELLENT for finding out ANY and ALL information on ANY drug that you might need information on.

Good Luck.........Sherry  :)
