Pain

I have had migraine headaches for over 3 years straight every day.  Recently I have been short of breath and I am having chest pain a lot.  From my migraines, sometimes the pain shoots down my neck into my back. Sometimes I have pain in my arm when I have pain in my chest. What could be wrong with me?

(this is actually my husband's issue but we want to know what could be causing this?)

I have chiari 1 malformation and suffer from the same symptoms, I'm not saying that this us what he has, but it's rare, and you can look it up and the symptoms, maybe it will point you in. the right direction.

Any chest pain or shortness of breath should be evaluated by a doctor as both of those symptoms can be signs of a lot of different conditions, some very serious.  I hope your husband has had this checked out to make sure it's not anything serious.

Sorry to hear you (or your husband) has been suffering with migraines for so long.  Is there anything you do or take to get relief from them?  I used to get them frequently in my older teenage years up until I had my first baby at 29.  They stopped (pretty much) until I had my last child at 38.  Since then, I had a few atypical ones (no pain, just visual disturbances) and a few regular ones.

Has your husband started any new medications that could possibly be causing the chest pain or shortness of breath?  Are the migraines getting worse?  Bad pain can cause a lot of anxiety, which can often cause shortness of breath.

Again, I hope these new symptoms have already been evaluated by a doctor.  If not, that's the first step.  Please don't wait too long with the chest pain and SOB.

I'm sorry, I meant to be sure that you know that there are no Doctors on the PM (Pain Management) Forum!!  Not everyone reads the Welcome Message and I need to be sure that you understand that we aren't Doctors.  :)

Thanks...........Sherry

Hi jesusisGod,

First, I want to welcome you to the PM (Pain Management) Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own expertise and experiences that we have developed through our own CP Issues.

I'm sorry that your Husband is having these problems.  I used to have Migraines approximately 30 years ago and they made it impossible to do anything as I was always having to lay down in a dark room and just couldn't function at all.

Has your Husband been to a Doctor and had any tests done?  Have you consulted a Doctor about these other symptoms? If he has, has he been what tests have been run and what was the findings on the tests?  I'm talking about an MRI or CT Scans.

When you have the chest pain and arm pain, are they in conjunction with the headaches also?

I'd appreciate answers as these will help to differentiate between what might be headache related and what isn't.

Thank you so much and I'll be looking for your update.............Sherry  :)
