Rib and back pain

I have been having pain in my ribs and into my back just below my right armpit for a little over a month now and i dont know what is wrong. I have been having a little trouble breathing and get short of breath really easily. When i lift my right arm it helps relieve the pressure and lets me breathe much more easily. Can someone please help me figure out what is wrong and tell me what i should do.
Thanks,
Tristan

I definitely agree with Tuckamore, you need to seek medical care as soon as you can. The symptoms you describe could be any of the things Tuck named but you really should see your Dr and get a diagnosis so you can be treated for the symptoms your having.
I hope your feeling better very soon, keep us posted :)

Hello and welcome to MedHelp. I am glad you found us. And I am sorry you are hurting. I am not a physician so I am merely guessing on the cause of your pain. My concern is the difficultly you are having when breathing and shortness of breath. Cardiac pain does not always have to be on the left side. I would seek medical intervention asap.

You could have a condition known as pleurisy. That also requires treatment from you PCP. You could have pulled a muscle and not known it.  There are other organs on the right side of your body that could be causing the pain as you describe it.

A month is a long time to have these symptoms. It is time for you to consult with your PCP. Please keep in trouch and let us know how you are doing. In the mean time some warm moist compresses to the area can't hut, along with some NSAID. Take Care, Tuck
