I am wondering if anyone here has a pain syndrome? i just figured out that I might have sympathetic maintained pain syndrome from having cervical ribs in my neck removed. I had pain since before my surgeries. they had to remove the ribs in my neck cause I lost circulation in my fingers. I am a RN and worked through the whole painful process. I recently moved and when I went to my new pain doctor where I now live he was a complete jerk. I never went back. I found a new doctor in houston who said nobody wants to take paitients who need opiates anymore. I have just been so upset.....I cry alot. I am just tired of hurting all the time. but you know what. all this time of trying to find a doctor I finally figured out that I may have a pain disorder causing all this pain. I also made a appointment with a neurologist to try to get the pain syndrome diagnosed. what I was wondering is if a neurologist can diagnose a pain syndrome that is caused by nerve damage.......gosh I have been through alot, let me tell ya. I don't ever say anything to friends and family.....my back issues have been really scary....cervical ribs in my neck on c8 and cervical spinal stenosis (skinny spine canal)......I think the neck and rib deformity is all connected....anyway I was fine until I turned 38, had no idea I was different till then.....anyway is someone here knows who and what kind of doctor diagnosis pain syndromes please let me know.....I see a neurologist like I said this friday. I am afraid of another doctor being mean to me....I think they are mean because I am different in my body...I think that may be frustrating...I know it frustrates me..lol anyway thank s in advance for any help......also I try to stay positive and am most of the time....I just have to cry sometimes cause I get so uncomfortable......:(
